About The Artist-in-Residence Program:
Artists chosen for Daring Dances take dance where it needs to go today—to the edges; to the questions; to the hard, necessary conversations. Artists-in-residence have the opportunity to have two residencies in southeastern Michigan during their residency year. The first residency focuses on the creative process, and artists have up to ten days with collaborators in the University of Michigan Dance Department studios, as well as working with scholars at the University. In the following winter, the artist returns for more creative time, including work-in-progress performances in Ann Arbor and Detroit.
